Odoo 20 is the new major version of Odoo, presented in a global preview at Odoo Experience in Brussels from September 24 to 26, 2026. Its flagship feature: an agentic AI capable of initiating actions, rather than just displaying data. For a leader who is already using Odoo or evaluating it, this version deserves a real look: it changes the way the software works for you, beyond just a new design.
To remember
- Odoo 20 will be unveiled at Odoo Experience, Brussels, from September 24 to 26, 2026.
- Its main novelty: an agentic AI that automates actions (reconciliations, reminders, orders) without waiting for the user.
- First modules affected: accounting, website, inventory, HR, sales.
- No urgency to migrate: a major version stabilizes over several weeks.
Odoo Experience 2026, what is it?
Odoo Experience is the annual meeting of the Odoo ecosystem, held at Brussels Expo. The 2026 edition expects more than 45,000 participants over three days, with over 400 conferences and 7 masterclasses. Admission is free. Fabien Pinckaers, founder and CEO of Odoo, opens the event on September 24 at 8:30 AM.
Certified partners and leaders evaluating Odoo meet there. Topics covered range from manufacturing to e-commerce, with customer experience feedback and technical sessions for developers. More than 400 exhibitors, partners, and third-party publishers will have booths on site.
Registration is done online, with a free Basic pass giving access to the conferences, exhibition spaces, and workshops. Among the announced speakers: Rolf Driesen, CEO of Deloitte, and Paul Gérard, editor-in-chief of L'Echo, alongside the product teams from Odoo. The level of the speakers exceeds the circle of Odoo integrators.
The real novelty: Odoo 20 and its agentic AI
Odoo presents Odoo 20 in a world premiere during the event. Odoo describes this version as a change in architecture. The term highlighted in its communication is "agentic," referring to the software's ability to initiate actions, rather than just display them.
What "agentic AI" concretely means
Odoo distinguishes two components in its communication. Intelligent automation identifies recurring patterns in the use of the software and eliminates associated repetitive tasks. Agentic AI goes further: it initiates an action and proposes it for validation, without waiting for a user to open the right screen. The difference lies in the initiative: one reacts to a known pattern, the other anticipates a decision.
Odoo cites an automatically initiated bank reconciliation and a customer follow-up sent without manual intervention. Another communicated example: a supplier order proposed before stock runs out, based on sales history. These examples remain those announced before the official release. We will test them ourselves in Brussels before recommending them.
The modules concerned first
The first affected applications relate to accounting, the website, inventory management, human resources, and sales. Odoo also announces a more efficient architecture, with a stated goal of stability in the event of rapid data volume growth.
The new announced locations are not yet detailed module by module. Nuprod will verify on-site whether Spain and France are among the priorities of this wave, a point that directly matters for our clients in both markets.
What the announcement does not yet say
Odoo's communication before the event remains deliberately broad. The price of Odoo 20 for existing plans is not confirmed, nor is the exact timeline for production availability after the announcement on September 24. The screenshots released show interfaces, not complete workflows on real management cases.
The licensing rates for companies in the Community version also remain to be clarified, particularly whether access to the agentic AI will require a separate paid component. Odoo has not yet publicly decided.
Nuprod will not recommend any migration until these points are verified on a concrete file. This is precisely the purpose of the recap planned after the event.
Why this concerns your SME, not just your IT department
An Odoo update often remains a technical subject in the mind of a manager. Odoo 20 changes this perspective. An AI that anticipates a stockout or that follows up with a late-paying customer directly impacts cash flow and work organization, just like the information system.
In a small organization, a recurring administrative task often absorbs the time of a single versatile person. Automating this task frees up time for higher value work, without additional hiring. We will not present any time savings figures until we have seen the tool operate on a real case.
Competing publishers are all investing in embedded AI. A leader who discovers these automations two years after their competitors starts with a disadvantage that is hard to catch up. Understanding where Odoo stands in this area before setting a migration schedule avoids two symmetrical excesses: haste and stagnation.
Nuprod will be on site
Nuprod will be in Brussels on September 24, 25, and 26, on site to see Odoo 20 running live and to ask questions to the product teams. The priority: to check if the proposed automations work without heavy technical configuration, a decisive point for an SME without a dedicated IT team. The event will also be an opportunity to exchange with other Odoo partners present at the exhibitor village.
We will return with a well-founded opinion on what is usable for a French or Spanish SME, beyond the keynote speech. A recap article will follow in the week of September 28, with an honest feedback on what convinced us and what remains to be confirmed. Subscribe to our newsletter to receive it as soon as it is published.
How to prepare before the release
Nothing urgent before September 24. Two reflexes are enough while waiting for the event to open:
- Check your current Odoo version and its end-of-support date, available in your back office or from your integrator.
- Do not migrate as soon as Odoo 20 is announced: a major version stabilizes over several weeks. Our recap will give you a ground-level opinion before any decision.
If a migration is already in your plans, regardless of Odoo 20, you might as well prepare it on solid foundations: target version, testing environment, team training.
